Introduction
Cheetahcoin was developed using SHA256, as a fork of Nengcoin (NENG). Cheetahcoin uses a proof-of-work algorithm with enhanced features to protect against 51% attack. Cheetahcoin represents the principles of cryptocurrency by decentralizing mining by allowing diversified mining rigs across CPUs, GPUs, ASICs and Android devices.
Security Mechanism Against 51% Attack
The Cheetah effect is a RandomSpike™ Technology that was first discovered and introduced during the development of Nengcoin. It has proven to be very successful in preventing 51% attack--an attack which most coins in the crypto world are at risk of. The Cheetah effect has been battle-tested and shown itself to be the best way to effortlessly secure a coin network: preventing abuse while offering a fair share of mining space for all crypto miners to fully promote decentralization.
Blockchain
The Cheetahcoin core wallet continues to maintain the ‘Satoshi v0.8.6.0’ tag because Cheetahcoin is derived from Bitcoin. However Cheetahcoin has additional mining features due to the CEA algorithm. As a result Cheetahcoin can function as a lite version of Bitcoin for educational purposes on desktop mining, full node running and Bitcoin programming using Bitcoin-json APIs.
Consequently Cheetahcoin levels the playing field by allowing enthusiasts to experience full node running, solo mining, CPU/GPU/ASIC for a fun experience at home without breaking the bank on equipment or electricity bills.
Suitable for the following:
- Desktop CPU/GPU
- Android Phones/Tablets
- USB ASIC’s e.g. {Gekkoscience Newpacc}
- Linux Machine
- Chromebook
RandomSpike™
Spike difficulties are assigned randomly at 50% chance to +- 18 seconds (36 seconds windows) of the previous block. When a big ASIC rig attacks CHTA and a spike block is mined, the CHTA algorithm automatically triggers 51% protection mechanism so that all GPU/ASIC miners can only mine at that spike difficulty until reset, essentially shutting down almost all GPU/ASIC miners and leaving CHTA minable to CPU miners only.
CHTA blockchain adjusts base difficulty every 720 blocks as allotted for 1 day of mining. In comparison, litecoin adjusts every 4 days while bitcoin adjusts base difficulty every 2 weeks.
Reset Difficulty = 1
Cheetah difficulty on randomSpike v1.8.x version = 12
Spike Difficulty = 100,000,000,000
Many of Cheetahcoin base difficulty adjustments are expected to be gradual--up or down by 20% to 50%. Historically CHTA base difficulty does a massive reset to reset difficulty on average after 1 week or in a spike block mined situation.
Because of the restriction that RandomSpike imposes on ASICs, only GPU solo miners or USB ASIC solo miners can mine for millions of CHTA within one day on reset.
